Moving to Georgia? Relocating? Look no further than historical Marietta, GA. for peace of mind and high quality of life.

Marietta: The Gem City of Georgia written by the Cobb Landmarks, visually displays the unique charm of Historic Marietta which is the heart and soul of this North Atlanta Suburb. Marietta, GA. is located within Cobb County and is one of the most desirable places to live in Georgia - lower taxes, great schools, historical wonders, places of worship, nature abound,  sought after restaurants and shopping for any family looking for the perfect place to call home.

Marietta is a full-service municipality distinguished by its particular history, community / family centric planning and quality standards of life. The National Civic League judged Marietta one of the 10 best communities in the nation as a 2006 All-America City, the oldest and most-respected community recognition award in the country. CNNMoney.com named Marietta one of the top 25 places in the United States to retire in 2011.

All of this can be witnessed as you walk through quaint downtown Marietta Square and feel the charming antiquity of the shops and local eateries. While you are checking out the area, you’ll have plenty to investigate near the historic district such as: Earl Smith Strand Theatre, Gone With the Wind Museum, Marietta History Museum, Cobb Museum of Art, Confederate Cemetery, National Cemetery, Kennesaw Mountain and National Battlefield.

Nestled within the neighborhoods of Historic Marietta is Oakton , located at 581 Kennesaw Ave. Oakton rests upon 5.5 prime acres and is a short walk to the Marietta Square where there are plenty of local shops, food, entertainment, and even public events.  Grab the family, a cool drink and walk to the square and enjoy its festivities.

Some of our favorite Marietta restaurants are Two Birds and a Taphouse, Marietta Square Market, Marietta Diner, Australian Bakery Cafe and The Red Eyed Mule. Walk to the square on the 4th of July and enjoy festivities at Grover Square or schedule Marietta Ghost Tours or the Annual Chalktoberfest. Some of the states favorite festivals are located in Marietta which include Marietta Art in the Park over the Labor Day weekend, Marietta Streetfest and Chalktoberfest in Fall and the Taste of Marietta in Spring. Enjoy entertaining musical concerts & food festivals, magical holiday and seasonal festivals, Farmers Market and of course the North Georgia State Fair is located in Marietta.

Oakton is zoned in the great Cobb County school district but there are several quality private schools in the area as well such as The Walker School and Mount Paran Christian Academy.  Georgia Tech and Kennesaw State are both just short drives away.

Walk to Kennesaw Mountain, right down the road from Oakton. The mountains and their surrounding National Battlefield Park offer over twenty miles of trails filled with a gorgeous view. The historic Battle of Kennesaw Mountain took place during the Civil War. The Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park was created on June 26, 1935.  It is one of the tremendous perks of living in Marietta.
